Best Time to Visit
For tourists there are two best seasons, one between March to May (spring & summer) and the other between October to November (autumn). These are the times when the temperature is pleasantly cool and the sky is usually clear offering lovely views.
Spring is one of the best periods to visit Darjeeling, the temperatures during spring season ranges between 6 to 17 degrees Celsius during daytime. Overall it’s a great time to enjoy Darjeeling in its best weather conditions and views of the mountains all around.
During Monsoons it rains incessantly and the weather remains foggy or misty and the sky can barely be seen. Chances of landslides and road blocks also increase during monsoons.
Winters can be qite cold and can get unpleasant for the tourists who are not used to the chill. Temperatures range from 2.5 to 10 degrees Celsius, but during the day when the sun shines it is quite pleasant. It does not usually snow in Darjeeling town even in winter but higher altitude places like Tumling and Sadakphu can be visited to experience snowfall.
